Spreading The Word

Harbor Evangelism is a not profit Organization that was founded by Tommy and Joann Tillman over 30 years ago. The work started out on the docks at the port of New Orleans LA  where Tommy Tillman was called to reach the men and women sailing the cargo ships from communist countries with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Tommy later redirected his desire to spread the Gospel to Thailand in reaching the lepers that inhabited that country with the love of God. Several years later Tommy expanded into the country of Mongolia, In his desire to reach the nomads of the Gobi Desert.  After several years in Mongolia, Tommy and Joann’s son, Mitch Tillman joined them and Harbor Evangelism. Today, Tommy and Joann, Mitch and his wife Baljmaa Tillman are working together to reach the people of Thailand and Mongolia with the Gospel.

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired word of Preserved for the English speaking people through the King James Version. ( II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:1-23).
  2. The Doctrine of the Person of
    We believe in God, the supreme personal eternal being, the source and beginning of all things, absolute in His attributes existing in Trinity. (Genesis 1:1-2, Psalms 53:1).
  3. The Doctrine of the Person of Jesus
    We believe in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His deity, His sinless life and vicarious death. We believe in His bodily resurrection and ascension and His personal premillennial return. (Romans 9:5: Philippians 2:5-11).
  4. The Doctrine of the Person of the Holy
    We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit. We believe that He executes the divine plan for our salvation. He indwells the believers and empowers them for service. (John 16:7-13; Acts 5:3-4).
  5. The Doctrine of Man
    We believe that man was created by God in His image and by His own personal choice fell into sin and death. Hence every person is sinful and under condemnation. (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:10,23}
  6. The Doctrine of Salvation
    We believe that salvation is wholly of grace and that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only salvation. (John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31).
  7. The Doctrine of the Security of the Believers
    We believe that those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are eternally saved. The security of the believer rests upon the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary. (I John 5:11-13, John 10:28}
  8. The Doctrine of the Church
    We believe that the New Testament Church is a congregation of baptized believers practicing the New Testament principles, holding forth its doctrines, observing its ordinances, which are baptism and the Lord’s Supper, exercising it autonomy, and proclaiming Christ’s Gospel. (Matthew 16:16-18)
  9. The Doctrine of Heaven and Hell
    We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in heaven and the eternal punishment of the lost in hell. (Revelations 21:4; Luke 16:19-31}.
  10. The Doctrine of Separation
    We believe in personal separation and ecclesiastical separation. We take a separate stand against Neo Orthodoxy, Nee Evangelicalism, Ecumenical Movement and any other movement undermining the fundamentals of the faith. (II Corinthians 6:14-17; II Thessalonians 3:6).
  11. The Doctrine of the Return of Christ
    We believe in the eminent premillennial return of Jesus Christ. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, John 14:1-3)

Orphanages

We have been established since 2005 and have adopted more than 100 children internationally and in Mongolia. We can take care of about 40 children and have a kindergarten and 1st grade in the home. Our children range from birth until the age of 6.  They are usually placed by the age of 6. We have 16 full-time workers and a full-time doctor on staff. Plus every shift has an on-staff nurse.

Pregnancy Crisis Centers

We have 4 pro-life centers in Mongolia. Fully staffed with an ultrasound operator in each center and a Christian counselor in each center. Our goal is to share the gospel with every one that enters. We see about 5-10 women each day. The centers have been able to save many babies and see many women receive Christ and change their lives.

Hospitals

Nomads and local villagers can get free medical treatment, with the support of donations. Many people have been won to the Lord out of this hospital. The Lord is working miracles here in Mongolia.
